Foothills (EDUC 391)
Math Games!!!
During our EDUC 391 class, we went to Foothills Elementary to play some of our Indigenous games with the students there. Our game involves math, each popsicle sticks has a pattern that equals number of points ranging from 0 points to 4 points.
The objective of the game is to reach 20 pts exactly. If you go over 20 pts, you will start back at 15 pts.
The students enjoyed the games as they did not realize that there is math involved and each student showed their own strategies of recording their points. –> Tally Marks, Images, digits, and Mental Math.
This game was a hit in my practicum.
